Welcome to Greater Westfield Habitat for Humanity
Greater Westfield Habitat for Humanity (GWHH) is a non-profit, volunteer organization
and a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Through volunteer
labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, GWHH builds and
rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner)
families and the efforts of many volunteers, churches, community service organizations
and business partners.
Habitat for Humanity is not a giveaway program, but a joint venture. Qualified
partner homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor - sweat equity -
into building their house alongside community volunteers.
GWHH has an open-door policy: all who desire to be a part of this work are
welcome regardless of religious preference or background. Habitat for Humanity
has always had a policy of building with people in need regardless of race
or religion, and we welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.
A Message from the President
Welcome to Habitat's web site. We hope it informs and inspires you. Informs
you how we make dreams come true for families who cannot afford homes through
conventional means. Inspires you to become involved with us in some way.
Please consider giving your time to build a house, working in our community
service program, donating land or money, or inviting us to meet with your
religious, civic or military organization.
Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you at our next home.
